Goldens in Golden 2026: The Goodest Gathering Yet

We’re still smiling here in Golden, Colorado. Every winter, our hometown fills with wagging tails, pup cups, and pure, fur-fueled joy as Goldens in Golden takes over our downtown. The official numbers from Goldens in Golden 2026 are in, and wow—this year delivered what must be near world-record levels of fluffy Golden goodness.

The Paw-some Stats

Goldens: 5,500 /  Humans: 18,000 (pup parents and those just there for the cuteness)

This year, the City of Golden estimates that the February 7th gathering reached truly tail-wagging proportions. Goldens and their humans —plus thousands of other admirers who just came for the smiles and slobbery kisses—filled the streets (and often the chilly waters of Clear Creek) of historic downtown Golden. It’s one of Colorado’s happiest traditions and widely considered one of the largest Golden Retriever gatherings in the world. 

YoColorado Goes Full Golden

For the third year in a row, YoColorado had the honor of serving as the official merchandise partner for Goldens in Golden. To celebrate, we teamed up with one of our favorite Colorado artists, Brooks Engel of Nowhere Land, to create a playful, colorful graphic inspired by Golden, the surrounding mountains, and of course the goodest dogs themselves. You’ll find it featured on this year’s official event apparel and accessories.

Doing Good for the Dogs

A portion of every item sold helps support local animals—and the people who love them. Thanks to this year’s merch sales, YoColorado donated two $4,000 checks (totaling $8,000) to Foothills Animal Shelter and Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies. Watch here for all the cuteness!

Lessons Learned for 2027

• Arrive earlier. Like… maybe even a sleepover?!

• There is no such thing as too many Goldens.

• Golden Retriever fur is now a permanent part of Golden’s ecosystem.
