From climbing walls to dog walks, our partnership with Ridwell turns retired ropes into colorful, adventure-ready dog leashes.
At YoColorado, we love giving good stuff a second life. Especially when it means less waste, more color, and more adventures with our four-legged friends!
For the second year, we've teamed up with Ridwell, a company on a mission to create a future without waste, to transform retired climbing ropes into sturdy, one-of-a-kind dog leashes for its annual Green Friday Goods collection.
The result? 1,400 repurposed leashes created through our partnership to date!
From the Climbing Gym to the Dog Park
These ropes have seen some action! Collected from Ridwell members and climbing gyms, they're ready for their next adventure.
Our YoColorado warehouse team in Golden, Colorado, handcrafts each leash, cutting ropes to precise lengths and adding ultra-durable hardware for years of walks, hikes, and outdoor fun.

No two leashes are exactly alike. Each has its own mix of colors, patterns, and history. And because climbing ropes are engineered for serious strength, they make tough, long-lasting leashes.
Two Brands. One Shared Love for Doing Things Differently.
Ridwell started in Seattle in 2018 when founder Ryan Metzger and his six-year-old son, Owen, sought better ways to recycle items that couldn't go in their curbside bin.
Today, Ridwell is a certified B Corp recognized for its commitment to social and environmental responsibility, helping communities recycle hard-to-recycle materials through doorstep pickups in eight metro areas and nationwide mail-in service. More than 300 trusted partners help give collected materials new life.
Together, the Ridwell community has kept more than 48 million pounds of material out of landfills. That's serious impact!
At YoColorado, we're big believers in small-batch production, long-lasting products, and creative upcycling. From climbing ropes and bike tubes to retired event banners, we turn unexpected materials into colorful, useful accessories.
Ridwell shares our commitment to sustainability, local partnerships, and products made to last.
Green Friday: Good Stuff Comes Full Circle

Now in its fourth year, the program brings together makers who transform materials collected by Ridwell members—including climbing ropes, corks, skis, denim, and bike tubes—into limited-edition goods.
Everything is made in small batches, giving discarded materials another chance to shine.
We're stoked to be part of this year's collection and connect with Ridwell's community of waste-reducing, adventure-loving members. Two brands proving that doing good can be a whole lot of fun!
Good for the Planet. Great for Your Pup.
